I am always on board with creating a fun event logo for a youth swim team event! Add in summer and sunshine and it’s on. This is one of the larger meets hosted by Southeastern Swim Club and this year -after many of not – we added in apparel to merchandise before and during the event. This meet is a different season and vibe than the Indiana Swimming Age Group Championships and therefore is a little more free in it’s styling.
I wanted to keep it bright, youthful and shouting ‘summertime’ with the colors. Pulling in color inspiration from a California surf sunrise and adding in some of the current fashion trends that lend towards the early 90’s (damn, I 100% should have saved alllll my clothes from high school – I would’ve made a fortune selling “vintage” clothes.. but I digress), I drifted toward a graffiti styling. Keeping it legible was key and in a 4 color print for the apparel, I had to remove some of the initial inklings towards spray paint and clean it up. Sun and surf are visually represented, while fresh colors make it pop against the soft tees and tanks. And even a bucket hat to keep it true to it’s vintage styling.
